Are you thinking about grilling your Thanksgiving Turkey outdoors this year? It’s a great way to keep your home smelling good and the turkey will come out perfect! Here’s what to do:
Before you grill the turkey cut up some apples (any kind will do). (Just cut up and core. Leaving the skins is fine. While you are grilling the juice in the apples will evaporate and merge into the turkey giving the smoky flavor a very moist apple flavor.)
Prepare an outdoor grill for indirect medium-high heat.
Rinse the turkey and pat dry. Turn wings back to hold neck skin in place. Return legs to tucked position. Brush turkey with oil.
Season inside and out with Italian seasonings, salt, and pepper.
Place turkey, breast side up, on a metal grate inside a large roasting pan. Arrange pan on the prepared grill.
Grill 2 to 3 hours, to an internal thigh temperature of 180 degrees. Remove turkey from grill and let stand 15 minutes before carving.
